First Impressions: Fly Superlace Boxing Gloves

First Impressions: Fly Superlace Boxing Gloves

It is depressing how excited I was for these.  Fly is one of those brands that I found through the Fit2Box channel on YouTube.  While I have found the reviews the guy that runs that channel to be great, given the cost associated with a pair of Fly gloves... it felt like a bit of a gamble and I was afraid I might end up being dissapointed with the purchase.  However, now that I have them: I am anything but.

A Night of Training and Sparring

A Night of Training and Sparring

A small collection of shots of my friend and trainer Sasa "Aleks" Minic sparring with his cousin Milos Andjelic.  This was a fun night and I learned a lot sparring with Milos for a bit.  It just made me wish I was in better physical condition so I could go longer, but I am still recovering from a cold and a minor respitory infection so perhaps I shouldn't be so hard on myself.  Regardless, it was a good night and I am thankful they invited me to come and work with them.

Jerry, as in the Mouse

Jerry, as in the Mouse

Jerry as in the mouse. Certainly not a mouse I would want to have to try and deal with. (Thankfully back to taking photos of people other than myself. Unfortunately, was kind of rushed so not perfect with my focus.)

From Russia with Love

From Russia with Love

Took 3 weeks, but my new heavy bag gloves finally made it here... just in time for me to get my wisdom teeth pulled so I can't us them 🤕. From Russia with love indeed.

Fortress of Solitude

Fortress of Solitude

There are a few things that immediately impress you if you spend anytime around real boxers.  The first is how hard they work and how little they get in return for their effort.  The second is how much of a solitary life it is.  Hours upon hours spent alone sweating in an empty gym just practicing and building stamina.  Finally, it is the close almost paternal relationship that exists between the boxer and their coach.  I tried to capture all of that in these shots.
