Saying Goodbye to a Pair of (Not So Old) Friends

It is officially time to retire my venerable Brooks Levitate running shoes (read: boats). They have served me well through this whole process and I am extremely glad that I purchased them. That said, they certainly failed in an odd way, but I suppose that is just a function of me being so heavy initially. (Not that I am really all that light even now compared to a lot of runners.) They probably just aren't designed to take the pounding that a 350+ pound body can deliver, and the fact that I spend so much time on the balls of my feet because of boxing... probably didn't help either. If anything I see it as a badge of honor that I wore through them in such a relatively quick fashion.

I already purchased a set of Brooks Launch 4s today to try out, and went ahead and ordered a set of Ghost 10s as well. Thanks to the fine people at Big Peach Running Company for all of the help getting shoes in my size. (I am partially posting these photos as a form of customer feedback.  I was not asking for anything from Brooks, I just thought that seeing how my shoes failed, since it seems to be somewhat unusual, might help them design a better product in the future.  I also went ahead and created a support ticket through their website with that goal in mind as well.)
